Up until now I thought computer bugs were glitches in software. Yes, there was the original computer bug; a moth that shorted a computer in 1945. But, that was a piece of history that seemed unlikely in this century.
My opinion sure changed when a customer brought in his dead laptop yesterday. He said there was a popping sound and a flash of light when he plugged in his laptop. The power cord was damaged so it seemed like the usual DC jack repair.
That diagnosis changed when the laptop was put on the bench for disassembly. There was a roach looking out at the repair tech. He appeared to be a little prisoner.
After fumigating the laptop overnight we opened it up to find even more roaches, both dead and alive. Hopefully we got them all.
I know there has to be more to this story but I don’t want to ask. Some things are better left unknown.
